The problem of poor data quality stored in database-backed information
systems is largely widespread in government, commercial and
industrial environments. Alarming situations with various information
quality problems cannot be ignored anymore and theoretical and
practical solutions are pressingly needed. Information quality is one of
the hot topics of interest in the academic and industrial communities.

The third edition of the International Workshop IQIS 2006 (Information
Quality in Information Systems) in conjunction with ACM SIGMOD/PODS
2006 in Chicago deals specifically with data and information quality
issues. It intends to address primarily methods, algorithms, massive data
processing and analysis methodologies and frameworks for the design of
data quality metrics.

We invite the submission of original research contributions,
industrial papers and case studies relating to aspects of data
quality and information quality. The duration of the
workshop is one day dedicated to scientific and technical
presentations matching the following topics of interests.

IQIS's topics include, but are not limited to:

Paper Formatting Instructions

All papers must be original, and have not been published elsewhere.
Papers should be in English, no longer than 12 pages for full
academic papers and 6 pages for short papers inclusive of all
references and figures, formatted for A4 paper, following the
ACM SIGMOD proceedings formats. Proceedings templates are available
in Word, WordPerfect, and LaTeX (v. 2.09 and 2e). These templates

The submission process is divided into three steps: registration, abstract submission
and full paper submission (PDF or PS Format). Please use the
